The next episode was supposed to come out in Fall of 2006, but I really don’t know what happened, I’m guessing maybe the expansion got in the way. FYI: I did not make this video. SUBSCRIBE TO DMC: www.youtube.com (EXCUSE THE TYPO AT THE BEGINNING, THIS IS REALLY PART 3) This is probably the biggest, coolest, and baddest part of the EPIC, GY-NORMOUS, half-hour Batman: Arkham Asylum Gameplay Blowout!!! Here, you don’t exactly get the same gameplay experience watching it as last time. New gadgets are introduced and expertly shown off (Sonic batarangs! The Batclaw!) as well as some awesome new fighting techniques and combos. (Batman breaks legs this time around) A few new cutscenes are shown here as well, although the main attraction for part 3 will most definitely be the gameplay upgrades that you see the game represents as you play along. This is gameplay from either the latter parts of chapter 3 or 4, or maybe even chapter 5, I’m not too sure about it yet. This video was not only made to go side-by-side with the release of the game (it’s out now, folks!) but also because parts 1 & 2 are generally very, very popular with the Batman: Arkham Asylum fanbase lucky enough to come across it on YouTube. So I hope you guys will happily enjoy enough of the fresh stuff provided for eager fans of the game. Gameplay The game has a more closed gameplay atmosphere. In a description by Game Informer, the gameplay is reminiscent of BioShock. Gameplay places just as much focus on Batman’s role as a detective as his combat prowess. Most of the game is played from Batman’s perspective through an over-the-shoulder, third person perspective, similar to that of Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space. It has been hinted that certain villains might be playable at some point in the game although this may be as an unlockable element after completing the game. Arkham was chosen as a location because of its limitations including the fact that it’s located on an island. Arkham will be a persistent location that the player is able to freely roam, including an area that serves as Batman’s secret on-site Bat Cave. Arkham will make use of Batman’s many gadgets to accomplish tasks and take down foes, such as using the grapple gun to get a better perspective on a particular area. Combat Some boss battles are focused on combat while others will focus on gadgets. Combat description features Batman perched on a high ledge in a wide open room as he watches some of the Joker’s thugs rifle through drawers. Batman switches to investigation mode using a blue tinted visor that among other things lets Batman see his enemies through walls and identifies things like guns and knives. One thug is carrying a machine gun, so Batman jumps off the ledge, spreads his cape, and stuns him. He then swipes his cape to stun his …
