@MrForestGreen yes, there is some recoil in these guns, because the coil is being pulled toward the bullet just like the bullet is being pulled toward the coil.
Dam!
One question though, is their any recoil like in a regular gun?
I get that newtons laws say their should be because a mass is being accelerated, but in this case is that force pushing backward, or outwards from the center of the coil??
@elgus Coil Guns are almost completely silent with the exception of the projectile’s impact, so without saying “Fire” you would only know that it fired until it hit.
wow, can you please send me an e-mail with the parts needed to make it + its properties?(i.e.: charging times, range, what kind of projectile you used and such)

ok can some one explain the purpose of a capacitor bank?? like why not use one capacitor, and in which way would you wire a capacitor bank

WOOOOOOOOW its the best coilgun i never see,big powe ,higt velocity, perfect
June 30th, 2010 at 12:25 pm
@elgus hell yeh lol
June 30th, 2010 at 12:55 pm
fire
June 30th, 2010 at 1:42 pm
@001kito Gauss. Since it works with a COIL not RAILs
June 30th, 2010 at 2:28 pm
@001kito it’s a coil that repels an aluminum/copper rod through alternating electromagnetism.

does this thing work as a railgun or a gauss gun?
June 30th, 2010 at 3:51 pm
lol o-o iwanna have…
June 30th, 2010 at 3:58 pm
@MrForestGreen yes there is recoil
June 30th, 2010 at 4:08 pm
What capacitance and what voltage are you using for this coilgun?
June 30th, 2010 at 4:42 pm
make a tutoial

I’ve always thought these things are cool, but that is quite terrifying…

it so easy to make a gun……
June 30th, 2010 at 7:20 pm
lol damn……….
June 30th, 2010 at 7:30 pm
Wow! That’s the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen! I want one and will pay any price.
June 30th, 2010 at 7:49 pm
how do you make this?
June 30th, 2010 at 8:14 pm
wow, can you please send me an e-mail with the parts needed to make it + its properties?(i.e.: charging times, range, what kind of projectile you used and such)
June 30th, 2010 at 8:20 pm
the gun at the end how much?
June 30th, 2010 at 8:26 pm
Could you please tell us what firing speed/minute can it make?
June 30th, 2010 at 9:01 pm
I’m glad he said fire every time, I would of forgot what was going on…. kool invention though
June 30th, 2010 at 9:14 pm
This is pretty effective, how much time it takes to charge?
