I actually looked up the laws pertaining to fire arms when I was building mine. A gun is considered to be anything that propels a projectile using explosives or compressed gas.
Coil guns use electromagnetic force so they are not considered to be firearms and therefore all firearm laws don’t pertain to them, even though coil guns can be lethal.
hello! awsome! thats the smallest most powerful coilgun i’v seen on youtube..
me and a friend is goin to do a coilgun as a school-project and i wold like your e-mail or msn to write you some questions please?
I see a few design issues, but other than that my hat is off! Awesome build. And if you ever make a tutorial, be sure to put it on instructables as well. =)
I want to see another failed attempt like the Philadelphia Project. Many military leaders dont understand most technology. I wonder how this one will turn out.
Needs a bit more power nonetheless a very impressive feat. Add some capacitors and and maybe a third stage and you’ll have the military buying those by the truckload.

@Molinobeer
Look up “diamagnetics.”
July 12th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
@molinobeer
The changing magnetic field induces currents, which create a magnetic that is the opposite of the other one.
Here is somehting amazing: watch?v=gp1RrauvhVA
