@LenovoVision Everyone said the same thing about the iPhone keyboard too initially and now they are much faster than a keyboard which requires depressing the buttons. All it will take is for a well written piece of software to run the touch algorithm coupled with the best hardware for touch sensitivity. If you think about it logically, there is physically less to do when pressing a virtual keboard (you have to depress each key less fully). Individual keystrokes quicker =typing quicker.maybe

That is exactly what I need and am looking for! I esp like how the base unit can function independently with an external monitor!
Does the tablet have vga-out?

Did Fox News have to be in the commercial?

@Chrisjr2007 its not out, and u mean JUST 1000, seriously, the ipad cost only 200 less, so this is worth the investment, its both a touch media device and a fully pledged netbook running windows seven, wat more do you want?

@LenovoVision Typing to a lcd monitor screen looks weird when the original screen is removed. Please do something about the empty red cover, make it removable.

good job! This will kill all table/notebook/ipad products…

Thinking loud here, what if it goes even a step further, that is,
great hardware = tablet / touchscreen + laptop
+
great software, not just OS, but with vertical software, say, for college students as well…
September 8th, 2010 at 1:55 am
@mytataDOTnet Yup and it cost $1000
September 8th, 2010 at 2:22 am
Awesome idea. Is it out?
September 8th, 2010 at 2:23 am
@tty2020 Well, yes, but it’s more like a tablet PC with a very graceful docking station, because the keyboard here has the full processor, discrete graphics, etc… So it’s just transferring the continuum between tablet and keyboard differently–more like an iPad (not as functional as a tablet pc) and a docking station (full workstation.)

@mrcolj It seems overrated to me. It is just a tablet pc with a keyboard.

What is the release date? I have been waiting for months now!
September 8th, 2010 at 3:31 am

September 8th, 2010 at 5:14 am
I have one word to say! Genius
September 8th, 2010 at 6:13 am
brilliant! They put a processor into the monitor so the monitor could be split off… It’s like an iMac glued onto a PC. I like it… And for those comparing it to the iPad, remember, Lenovo puts out just a high quality stuff as Apple does. I only buy thinkpads because they’re the only laptop made, including the mac, that can stand up to my use…
