This is a short demo of how 6rounds video chat experience gadget works in Google Wave. Natasha presents the lobby of the extension where you take a seat and wait for another user to join and then shows everything that’s possible to do in the chat – send virtual animated gifts, perform webcam effects, share activities and games together, change skins and use the ice-break tips.

How does it work on XP? Is this annoing beep always there when you film?
If I watch on 360p it’s not really good to hear.
September 3rd, 2010 at 10:49 am
does it run with win XP?
September 3rd, 2010 at 11:15 am
Why would someone describe the box, and the security seal on it and spend more than 1 min 30 talking about the damn packaging ? wow
September 3rd, 2010 at 11:44 am
This camera looks pretty good, I’ll be getting it.
September 3rd, 2010 at 11:55 am
You seem to know alot about webcams, what would you recommend me to buy if i was going to make youtube videos.
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:01 pm

September 3rd, 2010 at 12:30 pm

September 3rd, 2010 at 2:10 pm

September 3rd, 2010 at 3:05 pm
i cant hear any sound at 720p
September 3rd, 2010 at 4:00 pm
There is a humming/beeping sound when I put it on 480p and 720p on my laptop and computer, but when I put it on 360p the humming goes away, and sound quality SEEMS much better. I’am thinking about buying this product. Has there been an update on audio quality?

September 3rd, 2010 at 5:01 pm
Can you use those effects for video chat, like skype?
September 3rd, 2010 at 5:14 pm
@HeWh0Kn0wsN0t Thank you.
September 3rd, 2010 at 6:14 pm
what camera are you using to record these videos?
September 3rd, 2010 at 6:36 pm
I find that if the camera has a exposure setting, to turn off auto, and reducing that, increases FPS, I use a light to illuminate me enough, so the exposure isn’t to high, so the FPS at my webcams max res is awesome, I don’t have a HD Lifecam, I have the VX-2000.
September 3rd, 2010 at 7:27 pm
This Lifecam Cinema HD webcam is one of the best 720p HD webcams available today but as of now logitech is going to release some HD 720p webcams soon. One of those webcams does even record video at 1080p which is called the webcam HD Pro C910 and it can do video-chatting at 720p. I still prefer the lifecam Cinema HD over the logitech webcams.

@HeWh0Kn0wsN0t **CONTINUED**
To shoot at 720P at 30FPS you will need to uninstall any drivers and software that come with the Microsoft LCC. Once this is done you should be able to shoot in HD with no problem.
September 3rd, 2010 at 7:55 pm
**WEBCAM INFO!**
This webcam CAN shoot HD video at 30 FPS but the Software that comes with it is terrible. WITH the software you can only use the microphone that is built into the camera and, as this gentleman said, you cannot always get up to 30FPS. HOWEVER, you can download other video capturing software for free that will allow you to shoot at 30FPS using high quality video and use an external microphone!
The software I use for video capturing is VirtualDub. It is free online.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:41 pm
i have the same wallpaper
September 3rd, 2010 at 9:30 pm
@viewhue no it is not just look for input device settings choose your new microphone and you should be fine.
September 3rd, 2010 at 9:35 pm
@3DGAMEMAN so now you can take and upload pictures on youtube at 30fps and full screen?
September 3rd, 2010 at 10:03 pm
do you think i will have any problems if i use this camera on my compaq presario f700 windows vista laptop? and also do the pictures taken from this webcam appear full screen on youtube? reply ASAP please
September 3rd, 2010 at 10:54 pm
too bad like NO ONE uses this site cause it’s not half bad, it’s just that the random pairing thing NEVER works. and everyone just declines chat invites anyway. kind of defeating the purpose of even having an account.
but, if it was slightly more popular i see how it could flourish.
September 3rd, 2010 at 11:29 pm
Looks neat – but I do frown upon the requirements it’ll take to use this properly. :S
September 3rd, 2010 at 11:38 pm
@healthyarizona If you are referring to the comment by @6round about “1 on 1 video chats, but every wave can hold unlimited video chats.” then maybe I can help. This is an Extension (or Gadget) within a Google Wave. I just learned about this one now, but I think I can see how it would work. You need to have Google Wave (currently only available through invitations), If you are interested I will need your email address to send the invitation. I still have some left to give out.
September 3rd, 2010 at 11:55 pm
@6round
Not sure what you mean. so no group video chat, but each person can open multiple individual chats, hmm. I am looking for group video chat.
September 4th, 2010 at 12:02 am
@lttealeaf i thought she said daddy too haha. i was like…this is not right…
September 4th, 2010 at 12:35 am
i cant fucking figure this wave shit out wtf
September 4th, 2010 at 1:20 am
lol
September 4th, 2010 at 1:31 am
i was really hoping for multi person chat too
September 4th, 2010 at 1:47 am
The truth or dare question is: “What is your favorite thing about the opposite sex” if anyone was wondering.
September 4th, 2010 at 2:17 am
Actually, the multiple simultaneous video chat is exactly what I was looking for and hoping to find. It would prove an unparalleled teleconferencing tool.
September 4th, 2010 at 2:20 am
She says Hi “Danny” not “Daddy”.
September 4th, 2010 at 2:25 am
jesus fuck….
September 4th, 2010 at 3:24 am
Currently, 6rounds supports only one on one video chats, but we plan to change this in the future and allow multiple users in chats.
Within the video chat extension in Google Wave, you can enjoy unlimited simultaneously sessions. When all seats are taken, new seats are automatically being generated and presented to the users in the Wave.
Hope this helps
September 4th, 2010 at 3:36 am
I, too, am interested in learning how we can have multiple people video chatting at once. Is 6Rounds working on changing this in the future?
And you mention that a wave can handle multiple video chats…can this happen simultaneously?
Very interested in this feature, if possible! Thanks!
September 4th, 2010 at 4:07 am
hmm. my friend and i are having problems w/ 6rounds not recognizing our macbook iSights w/ Snow Leopard 10.6.2. so far, i’ve changed the adobe flash settings and managed to change the camera to USB video class and worked. tried the microphone to built in microphone or input, and none of those settings worked. i really am hoping this issue gets sorted out for macs.. this extension is really exciting, and i’m hoping to use it a lot for grad school, especially for group projects.
thanks ^__^

Natasha marryyyyyyyy me^^
September 4th, 2010 at 5:15 am
Uh Natashe is as sweeter as a little tiny sweety mouse
September 4th, 2010 at 5:52 am
are you guys going to release a version that allows 6 people to chat with each other?
September 4th, 2010 at 6:17 am
Do you mean that wave supports unlimited video chats without 6 rounds ?
September 4th, 2010 at 6:49 am
You can video chat without all the effects using the same 6rounds video chat extension – it’s all up to the participants to decide.
September 4th, 2010 at 6:57 am
Not really, when you enter a wave that has the 6rounds video chat gadget installed, you can participate in the chat without installing the extension.
September 4th, 2010 at 7:19 am
It’s currently 1 on 1 video chats, but every wave can hold unlimited video chats.
September 4th, 2010 at 7:33 am
6rounds video chat extension present video and voice.
September 4th, 2010 at 7:40 am
Does this gadget present video only, or voice too?
September 4th, 2010 at 8:34 am
how many participants are possible in the chat? Multiple videos would be goo for meetings
